ACCORD
Welcome!
This is your invitation to join the newly formed organisation named ACCORD. The purpose of the organisation is to express peace and harmony between those of us who have been brought up in a different cultures and different religious traditions.
What ACCORD is not:-
ACCORD is not a platform for anyone to influence others toward a particular, separatist religious tradition. It is not designed to say, "I am right and you are wrong" on any subject whatever. It is absolutely not a new religion, nor is it a cult. It is simply an association of people who care about each other are are committed to seeing each others' points of view.
What ACCORD IS:-
It is an Association for the Cross-Cultural Overcoming of Religious Differences. Many of us base our living on the traditions of our particular religious background. Some of us passionately love the Great Ones honoured within our belief system and would not wish to do anything whatever to dishonour their teachings. However, we feel that those same Great Ones who offered those teachings to us are also Great Friends with each other. Their purpose was to bring help and blessing to mankind and to enable us to evolve more and more into the full potential of what mankind can become. We wish to follow their example and express that unity as fully as possible on earth.
The Organisation of ACCORD:-
A newsletter will be created bi-monthly and circulated to affiliated members, providing information about what is happening. Each issue will carry articles describing different belief systems and enabling us to learn more about each other. Members' letters will be invited for publication, but no divisive or proselytising letters will be printed. ACCORD is not designed as a vehicle for missionary-type work on behalf of any faith; there are other organisations in existence which are appropriate for that type of work. ACCORD is to build bridges between us. It will enable us also to be aware of each others' needs, our hopes and fears, and to realise that we are all part of One Great Life ensouling us all. It can provide us with the means to learn to love each other as we love ourselves, and to understand our varied ways of perceiving life at every level, in addition to providing a practical, inter-faith, mutual support system.
Future events:-
It is hoped that it will be possible for group meetings to be arranged in the form of seminars and workshops and these will be advertised in the newsletter as appropriate.
